I am an ELCA member and generally unfamiliar with the Ablaze! movement in the LCMS, but I am wondering if those of you who are LCMS could give me your thoughts on the campaign.

Radidio said:Yea it's quantity instead of quality. Just like the reformed mega churches and I've seen what it's done to them. They are rampid with heresy because they bring people in with weak theology and emotions and soon you lose them because they are disallusioned becuse it's not what they thought and they have been fooled.

Quantity over quality, huh Radidio? If you look at it this way, that isn't the case. But, I suspect that not everyone does look at it that way, and I'm beginning to think that you're right on in your assessment.QuiltAngel said:My husband did a number crunching and if I am remembering right, found out that it comes out to each member talking to 4 people each year during the program. Ahm, shouldn't we be doing that anyway?
Breetai said:In the end, it's up to every individual Christian (opps, I mean every individual LCMS Lutheran! Sorry higher ups...) to decide how much quality goes into their witnessing. I can tell people what the gospel is all I want, but it can take years for it to really sink in and catch hold of some people... if it does at all. The mission field isn't a McDonalds drive-thru, as much as some 'city slickers' make it out to be.

What 'choo talkin' 'bout Rad? I've agreed with what you've said in this thread... Except for that James Kennedy comment, that is.Radidio said:Amen brother.
