There is no inaccurate way to classify animals. Anyone can classify them as he will in whatever way makes sense to him. One person may say bats should be classified with rodents because of their ears, and yet another that they should be classified with fowl because of their wings. Is either wrong? No, a bat resembles both in some respect.

You are quite wrong about locusts. They use all six legs to walk, and all six legs have "feet". None of this matters if you're willing to let the Bible be what it is - rather than a science text book.

Even if the Bible were written by ignorant Hebrews rather than inspired prophets, they wouldn't make a dumb mistake like miscounting the number of legs that these creatures have, seeing they caught and ate them. By feet is meant those legs that are for walking, and 'legs to leap withal' those legs that are primarily for leaping (even if they could be used for walking in a limited sense).
