What about that part where ice core samples showed a tropical rain forest type climate at one time?
Is that true?
Okay ... so we have a rain forest at the South Pole 90 million years ago.As others have noted, there was a tropical jungle there 90 million years ago. That, I'm willing to bet, was not discovered by ice cores.
What the ice cores have shown, I don't really know. But I doubt they show a tropical rain forest there in times relevant to homo sapiens.
What happened that changed a rain forest into an ice continent?

If so, is Genesis 1 antiscience or no science?
Okay ... so we have a rain forest at the South Pole 90 million years ago.
Today we have an ice continent.
What happened that changed a rain forest into an ice continent?
It was originally a part of Gondwanaland and located in the tropics. It eventually broke off and slid south to its present position.
I thought of that, but it looks like by 90 MYA, Antarctica was already pretty close to its present position wrt the Pole. It may have been tropical in the climate sense, but not the geographical one.
This rainforest core sample came from a spot that was then at 82 degrees latitude.

So what caused the conditions for a tropical environment in Antarctica?
The CO₂ concentration would need to be around 1,120–1,680 parts per million at this latitude.
In other words, the question is too hard?I don't give answers to people who are being deliberately vague unless you provide the background behind your questions.
I almost totally agree with you.It was originally a part of Gondwanaland and located in the tropics. It eventually broke off and slid south to its present position.
Some think it was a water canopy around the earth. So what caused the conditions for a tropical environment in Antarctica?
No it's because your questions are meaningless without providing a background. In other words, the question is too hard?
