The bible says to put on armour.

How do you do it? How often?

For those who think the enemy cant wound us, why do we need armour?

Eph 6

Remember the prayer Jesus taught? "Lead us not into temptation." Meditating on the appropriate Christian teachings might help you avoid taking a false and deceitful course. Not bear false witness.

Most importantly we have the sword or sword of the spirit which is the Word of God. Knowing the Word helps us to decipher Truth from all the lies of the devil, the world and even our own sinful flesh. These lies can do very big spiritual harm to us in many ways and even lead to damnation. This reading and studying of the Word (taking up His sword) and putting it into practice and use is only one important example of putting on spiritual armor.

We should have the armor of God ALL the time, not just once a week sitting in the pews. The armor of God is knowing what is Godly and what is not. The armor of God on all the time will ease temptations.
Also, Jesus said we need to be ready because He can return tomorrow for all we know. Remember that one parable He said when a lazy servant didn't care about his master, who could return at any time.

In Ephesians 6, Paul was telling the Ephesians that they are in a spiritual warfare. Paul also tells them that prayer is a useful tool in helping you defend yourself against the flesh and temptations of the world.
