  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I did the Crossings Book club 40 day challenge last year, where they send you a shortened version of each chapter, every day for 40 days and loved it. I've started the book about 6 times and just can't seem to give myself the time I need to do it. But I pulled it out again this morning to try it again!!

I loved what I read in the shortened emails. I found it very uplifting and motivating in terms of encouraging me in my Walk.

I heard so many "great" things about this book so my wife and I gave it a shot. Personally I think the book was terrible. I know lots of people who have been motivated and changed after reading the book so I don't want to slam it to bad. It could be that maybe it is a good book for new christians or non-believers. I thought it was very watered down for one. Second it seems to go on the whole idea of bringing God to us rather than us going to God if that makes sense. Praise God for anyone who desires to strengthen their faith through the book.

My husband and I are on chapter 7 today. He's a non-believer and, until recently, has pushed God away, but he loves the book and reminds me to read it with him every day! I think it has a lot of really great points for believers and non-believers alike. There are things in there that got me thinking even, things that bring up a different way of thinking and different perspective. :)

I really enjoyed it, but my boyfriend didn't...

He is still trying to get to the point where fellowship with God is important to Him - so got bogged down in the first part of the book. By the time ministry, discipleship, mission all came up, it did nothing for Him.

So, if you're still dealing with developing a relationship with God AT ALL - then it wouldn't be the right book for you. It would be a GREAT book for strong Christians who need a refresher on the important bits of living life (what it's all about), or those who want to GROW their faith more.

Not so good for people still working out if they want God in their life, or how much of Him they want.

I did like it though!

I don't know about that, I think it depends on the person in question. My husband isn't a Christian, but he really likes the book.
