Psalm 51

Hey lads/lasses.

I was surprised to find that there are references to the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament.

Obviously in Genesis God's spirit hovered over the waters...

But it appears that David was filled with the holy spirit.

Psalm 51:11
Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. -- NASV

What is your view on this?
Was the Holy Spirit there to guide the Jews?
Is this a translation error?

The Shekinah was present in and with numerous situations and persons in the T'NaKah

I assume you mean *before* that Penecost after Yeshua's sacrifice?? Because then the ONLY ones who DID "speak in tongues" were all Jews. NO ONE "spoke in tongues" before the Jews did.

But before that??? Well, I guess there was no need.
