Hello folks. Let us make it our mission to slay the demonic this Halloween. Keep your children away from horror films, unless they are of the age that is recommended on the film, as well as avoid any costumes that are gory or celebrate the devil.

PSA has concluded.

If it's ok to ask: Ever seen The Exorcist or read the original book, or read/seen anything by Stephen King?
I have not, but I should, as Stephen King was innovative in the horror genre in the late 20th century.

Alfred Hitchcock - The Birds was a good horror movie, from the mid-20th century.

The Birds was great! Psycho is another great one! (The book is a little different).

What horror films are you specifically saying STAY AWAY FROM?

I read the book by Stephen King, where he imagined someone going back in time to prevent the assassination of JFK. It was not horror based and was interesting. The ending kind of just petered out, however.

In my area, many try to have "Fall Festivals" which involve lots of fun things for kids, but do NOT have elements of Halloween in it. I'm a big fan of this.

That is a good idea. Fall festivals are better than Halloween. :)

Exorcist is too icky for me, Stephen King I’ve read, but not in awhile. I watch The Shining pretty regularly, but in general I avoid body horror, which leaves out a bulk of his work. After working in the medical field and as an EMT, seeing what I’ve seen IRL on the screen isn’t entertaining for me anymore. Though I did “watch” Scream yesterday because somehow my youngest has developed a love of scary movies, despite the fact his father and I absolutely do not.

I tried to watch Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte last night and had to stop because it was too much for me to watch alone at night. Hitchcock horror is more my speed. I super got into Laura, that was great.

That’s the one. Thinking I’ll do Sorry Wrong Number or The Letter tonight. Suspenseful, but not bloody.

I’m a huge classic movie fan. You cannot go wrong with either one. Barbra Stanwyck is fabulous in ‘Sorry Wrong Number’ and Bette Davis in ‘The Letter’ is just her usual awesome self. And very sneaky/conniving. Enjoy! :)

I’ve seen all those movies plus many, many more.

I’ve probably seen Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer over 300 times. Lol

I like the old Universal movies. Bride of Frankenstein, etc. A few of the cheesy 50’s monster movies too. Creature from the Black Lagoon and more.

It could be an excellent opportunity to teach children Biblical truths on the topic according to their ages.

We believe in the unseen spiritual realms. We just don't have any fear of them in Christ (they have no power over the saved) unlike popular books and movies would have you believe.

My son is going trick or treating as a ninja and me and my daughter are going as people riding on dinosaurs. We have inflatable ride on dinosaur costumes.

Have you seen “House of Seven Gables?” Vincent Price, George Sanders. Great movie for the season.

I’m a big classic movie buff myself. I’ve seen “The Women” about a million times. And if Bette Davis is in it, I’ll watch it obsessively.

“Scream” I saw back in the day a thousand times. I think I might be forced to watch the second one tonight. I forgot about Last Summer… I suspect my son would love it. He says he likes the adrenaline of feeling scared in a controlled setting.

I may send him out to the yard to watch “Blair Witch Project.”
