• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jeremiah 7:
16
“Therefore do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them, nor make intercession to Me; for I will not hear you.

17 Do you not see what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

18 The children gather wood, the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger.

19 Do they provoke Me to anger?” says the Lord. “Do they not provoke themselves, to the shame of their own faces?”

What is the manifestation of this stronghold spirit? Is there a feminist mystique to which men willingly surrender their authority? Will not men be ultimately held accountable for the usurpation of authority by their own neglect?
1 Timothy 2:
8
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority
over the man, but to be in silence.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived
was in the transgression.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

Notice that this controversial midrash of Paul on the role of men and women begins with the exhortation for men to pray with holy hands uplifted. When women are observed acting out against this authority, look to the hands of the men.
Meditation:

Hosea 4:14
“I will not punish your daughters when they commit harlotry,
Nor your brides when they commit adultery;
For the men themselves go apart with harlots,
And offer sacrifices with a ritual harlot.
Therefore people who do not understand will be trampled.

"usurp authority over" [G831] authenteo
a. according to earlier usage, one who with his own hand kills either others or himself.
Therefore, men do not have their authority taken, it is surrendered "by their own hand".

Can you elaborate on what you wish to discuss, and how it fits into Controversial Christian Theology?

My elaboration is in blue.

Frankly, I am a bit surprised that you would ask how gender roles in church and society at large fit into a controversial forum!
The only thing that I would add at this point that I have left out is that a distinction must be made between what may be going on in the world and society with regard to "gender warfare", and what is and should be going on in the church. The church is not the world, therefore, if men of a church are living up to their God ordained responsibilities and exercising the authority that is expected of them, then women of that church have the responsibility to uphold the doctrines of Christ. If they bring a spirit that is prevailing in the world into the church, the judgment will be against their actions. There is a balance being struck here, and a judgment that must be made not on appearances, but righteous judgment. John 7:24

While it may seem "controversial" it is not really the vision of the Controversial Christian Theology forum. The CCT forum is more for the below (from the Statement of Purpose):

This forum is for discussing and debating topics that do not directly oppose the Nicene Creed, but are not considered to be traditional orthodox Christian theology on CF. These unorthodox topics may not contradict the Nicene Creed. All posts must to adhere to the CF Statement of Faith. This forum is open to Christian members only. Please refer to our faith groups list for clarification. This forum is not intended to be a "safe haven" for members who hold unorthodox Christian beliefs.

Non-Trinitarianism may only be discussed in the Outreach category forums. Gnosticism may not be discussed in any CF forums. Unorthodox Christian theological topics include (but are not limited to):
  • Annihilationism
  • Full Preterism
  • Open Theism
  • Universalism
  • Date-setting for Second Advent*
