  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Proverbs 23:7 "For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."

I've been thinking about this passage lately. If we believe in our heart that we are just a filthy sinner, only capable of sinning, and that belief is reinforced by well wishing but deceived teachers, then I believe that is exactly how we will operate in our daily living, just like a sinner who is driven by his glands. Does God get any glory from others who see that type of Christian?

However if we believe we are holy, if we believe are justified, if we believe we are sanctified, if we believe we are pure and we are righteous saints not abject sinners, we will become exactly that. Titus 1:15, "To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted." Phil 4:8, "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things." Why "think about such things? Refer back to Proverbs 23:7!
