I want to take a look at a verse that I find compelling regarding Israels return in 1948.
When we look at this verse in Ezekiel 38, I can help but see the return of Israel foretold in detail..
Eze 38:8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years(1948) thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword,(Retun) and is gathered out of many people(from all the nations of the earth), against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste:(Israel is essentially desolate from 70ad-1948) but it is brought forth out of the nations,(Jews were living in all nations around the world when they returned in 1948) and they shall dwell safely all of them.(Israel, while having the occasional scuffle about the temple mt, have enjoyed prosperity and abundance in the land, and have brought back industry, produce, and have become an exporter of goods to the world)
At the Rate Prophecy is unfolding
Its worth noting that the next Blood moons are going to happen in 2014&2015, in which we will see 4 blood moon lunar eclipses signaling the coming of a Jewish prophecy to unfold.
All those so-called "end time events" belong in the Politics" section at the bottom of the screen.
They have been going on forever, nothing unique to the modern world!
Paul was using the whole world as a figure of speech. Jesus was speaking in terms of the entire world as the populations have become spread and nations developed to cover the entire earth.
By comparing accounts of the same discourse, we have Luke citing "jerusalem surrounded by armies" as the AoD, signaling that THEN, those in Judea should Flee. When Jesus made those statements in Matthew 24, in the same content of then the end will come, he referred to Abomination of Desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel.
Actually, it is you who are isolating Matt 24:15 and not taking into account other criteria, specifically PARALLEL passages. So what I see them who are preterists doing is isolating verses, not taking into account the other criteria
All the prophecies about the dispersion and return of the Jews to their own land were fulfilled at the end the Babylonian Captivity in 457 B.C., not 1948 when the State of Israel was formed.
Not one single verse in the Old Testament, or New, written after the Babylonian Captivity mentions any other dispersion and re-gathering of the Jews. Not even ONE!

Speculating on Future dates, or citing specific FUTURE years for prophetic fulfillment, ie: Date Setting, is NOT ALLOWED on CF.
You have been reported AGAIN.
1) Scripture does not indicate that he needs to emerge, as in 'be obvious to the whole population,' imo. 2) indicates to me that this is also being taken (possibly way too) literally; a spiritual temple may already be erected? 3) this further reinforces a literal view. Would you co-equate the Israel mentioned in the Revelation with the zionist 'Israel' we have today? Why do this, if Scripture is about the spiritual, and that Israel may only be a temporal one? Do you think 1948 and 'fig tree budding again' are the same? I used to; but no longer.1) Not yet.. Things wont kick off until a one world ruler emerges.
2) Israel still needs peace with Palestine in order to build the temple, which will be a platform for the Beast to proclaim himself god.
3) The temple will be built in less than a year when peace between Israel and Palestine occurs.

The temple is coming.. As soon has Israel gets a short peace agreement in the near future..
"There is nothing new under the sun?" People have been looking for Armageddon since Christ walked the earth. The end of the world is always 6 months away?I asked to know..
Something is terribly wrong with our reality at this point in time, many are unaware of how close we are..
Wow, this thread has been busy! Pardon if i redux here; from pg 1:1) Scripture does not indicate that he needs to emerge, as in 'be obvious to the whole population,' imo. 2) indicates to me that this is also being taken (possibly way too) literally; a spiritual temple may already be erected? 3) this further reinforces a literal view. Ah; but i see P70 has covered that...
Babylon also, and actually (i think) reps the prince of this world? Do you think its ancient location is even relevant?
Hmm; this seems to indicate that 'the world's armies' will be carrying guns, physical armies? satan is going to try to defeat God with guns? The reason i hate this is because it lulls people to sleep spiritually. Please understand that i cannot refute this; it might even be true--but i used to believe this, and seriously doubt it now. My evidence is that everyone got Christ's first coming wrong, despite much prophecy there; and I'm pretty sure that the prevailing opinion (this one) must follow the same route. For at his 2nd coming, Jesus (who is YHWH: John 10:30, Zechariah 14:3-4) will completely defeat the world's armies, arrayed against YHWH (Revelation 16:14, Revelation 19:19-21).
ah, then i misunderstood the 'Iraq' comment/connection

1) Nothing wrong with that--i still do, too, as the spiritual parts end up becoming literal, in hindsight. I have only abandoned literal interpretations where i feel that i have been shown a more accurate spiritual one. 2) OT, sure--you don't mean to apply this to today tho, correct? 3) i don't mean to imply that they aren't supposed to be there; but that God may be 'allowing' it, if you get me. 4) Amen, nice. Highlights the dichotomy in many of our definitions, imo; is Israel the government, or the people? Or both? Perhaps not strangely, the Isralites of today feel as divorced from their Gov as many or most Americans do from theirs...and all of the 'broken branches' refs that i can think of indicate 'cast into the fire.' Do you have one in the spirit you are indicating? Ty!1) I take scripture pretty literally...
2) When the Jews returned, the land of Israel came to life, and the people flourished.
3) God controls everything in this reality, if they arent supposed to be there, God would have prevented it.
4) I do believe in the spiritual Israel, but I also believe in the broken branches in Israel as the Jews.
1948 wasnt the indicator for me regarding what is coming, its the financial system that is about to collapse that tipped me off...
Ah, gotcha. But that '4 corners' ref says Israelites, not Jews, am i correct there? Maybe not.I was just saying that modern day Iraq is the location of the original Babylon.
When the Jews came from Babylon, they didnt return from the four corners of the earth, they came from "around the corner"..
Iraq isnt very far from Israel.. At all really..

And today's temporal 'Israelites' did not really get to choose their Gov like we did, so this should be considered. They may truly not rep them like ours reps us (like it or not).Highlights the dichotomy in many of our definitions, imo; is Israel the government, or the people? Or both? ah, nice, ty.
