Hi everyone. The part of the bible I'm reading at the moment is when the Israelites were in captivity and then returned to rebuild Jerusalem.
During this time, a few prophets talked about a future Israel/Jerusalem, strong, blessed, and well known as God's home. For example, Zechariah says:
"This is what the Lord says: 'I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the Lord Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain"
and
"In those days ten men from all languages will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say 'Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you'" (Zechariah 8)
I don't my history very well - is Zecariah and other prophets talking about a time that was fulfilled sometime later in history, or is this a time still in the future?
I know that by Jesus' time, Israel was occupied by the Romans. Did Jerusalem ever become that wonderful "City Of Truth" sometime in the past, or is it still to come?
