I want to praise God because we found out today that our property taxes won't be raised. We had been afraid that they would be raised after my grandmas passing but by God's grace they're not.Thank you Jesus.May He grant us favor to keep the house and not have to sell .

Some states do have tax breaks for the elderly, but they are rare.

Some states do have tax breaks for the elderly, but they are rare.
Florida has a homestead property tax exemption for in-state residents and another for those 65 and older. Canadians and northerners who own winter homes in Florida to not get the in-state homestead exemptions.

The downside is the quality of education is lower as they can not afford to pay enough to attract high quality teachers. The state universities are not the best in America either. California and Massachusetts have better universities and high tech industries. They used to call Massachusetts "taxachusetts." There are people with Boston accents retired in the county where I live.
