Does anyone like having these in certain translations? I have been looking for a compact KJV, and it seems that they all have pronunciation marks on text representing names and places. I find them to be cluttering and annoying, honestly, and talking to some people at the local Christian bookstore, they agree.

I am curious, does anyone actually like this feature in some Bibles?

Hi there!

You could pick up an early edition scroll....

without punctuation, chapter and verse markings, or book positions as in the Bible. You would have a lot less markings, and the text would be a lost less cluttered..... but you would still have most of the "accent" marks for particular words.

Just a suggestion...

All I am looking for is a Bible without the "self-pronouncing text" feature. Punctuation and verse numbers are neccessary.

The reason I don't like the pronunciation marks is simply because they are not neccessary. Most of the names are not difficult to pronounce anyway, and the more difficults ones, once figured out, are no longer a challenge.
