Psalm 118:

How Can David Call His Descendant Lord?
Matthew 22:
41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
42 saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?
They said to Him, The Son of David.
43 He said to them, How then does David in the Spirit call Him Lord, saying:
44 The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool?
45 If David then calls Him Lord, how is He his Son?
46 And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that
day on did anyone dare question Him anymore.

Why did quoting this one verse silence all?

Psalm 110:2. The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion.
Rule in the midst of Your enemies!

Revelation 2:
26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him
I will give power over the nations—
27 He shall rule them with a rod of iron;
They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels.

Interesting that Paul claims to wield that rod.
1 Corinthians 4:21. What do you want? Shall I come to you with a rod,
or in love and a spirit of gentleness?

Note that this word is translated 'sceptre' in Hebrews 1:8:
But to the Son He says:
Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

20 And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the Lord your God. And all the congregation blessed the Lord God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the Lord, and the king.
