  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You can always hope, but it seems that the new owner is an absentee landlord who gives directions from on high.

Things will probably get worse before they get better.

As far as I can tell (talking strictly surface here, of course), this forum has been put on probation because there have been a lot of reports generated here in a short period of time, and the staff is seriously considering shutting it down. So this is a testing period to see if they can enforce some changes before making that decision.

To discuss this in any further detail will most likely get your thread locked, and will likely be another black mark against CC as a whole. So if you want to get into the nitty gritty, it would probably best if you contact a friend or a mod for further clarification.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse, so while that sticky was posted on the evening I left for 6 days on a business trip, I guess I should have checked since it was rumored but not substantiated prior to my return. So I've just noticed/been informed (indirectly) that all of my posts (and probably this one too) in this thread go against this probationary period levied against CC for the next couple of weeks. Yay!

Well, not really. In order to spare CC any wrath from my postings ... I'm yanking my name from the member list. That will please most everyone remaining, including the ET overseers. Yay!
