CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

FT pro. Just went FT last July after 8 years or so of part time and on/off professional work. Things seem to be going well.

Hobbiest. My mom passed her Brownie Hawkeye down to me when I was a teenager, and that did it. Got my first slr (thank you, hubby!) 23-4 years ago, and just recently took up digital. Just got a Photobucket account, so get ready; I plan to show off!

I've been using a camera on trips and things since I was a kid.

I classify myself as a beginner hobbiest, because I really don't know what I'm doing, and I fiddle until I get things right... but I'm working on it, learning more about my camera, and reading some books on the subject.

Student working for my cert. I'm aiming to be full time pro (prayers welcomed ). I know I want to do some niche stock work but I'm still uncertain about what I want to specialize in beyond that. It mainly comes down to what would be best for making a living with. I'd really like to find a way to devote part or full time to some form of ministry with the skill. I have about 2 years until I get Certified through my college so I have much time to ponder and pray for open doors.

A former job involved taking many thousands of photos of buildings, but not as a professional photographer. I've been involved in large format photography for a few years, and I'd love to find a way to pay for some of those lenses!

I was a student in high school...I do it as a hobbie (as well as scrapbooking), and I really want to take college classes on it (maybe this summer...)

I have been a hobbyist for 18 years, and just recently received (as a gift!) a professional grade digital camera! Watch out world, here I come.

I'm a beginner. I had a point and click for the last three years, got some really nice results with it, then got a digi cam for Christmas. I haven't really experimented with it though.
