My husband has worked as a prison guard for 6 years. Today, was the first time he was ever involved in something close to a riot.
Him and 2 other guards were taking a prisoner (who is leader among the other prisoners) to segregation. The other 2 guards went then to a unit where they were attacked in retaliation for taking the prison "leader" to seg. Thankfully, my hubby was making a phone call to me!! He was saved in the initial attack!
He did have to respond to the attacks which had escalated. He said he never saw anything like it in his life. That there was so much blood. There were 10 officers injured. My husband merely twisted his knee.
I thank God for protecting my husband!!! We forget how dangerous his work is. I'm so grateful for my husband's life and love. God was watching over him.
I pray for the other officers and their families. I know there are a lot of scared guards out there tonight after what they have seen and experienced. May the Lord be a comfort to them.
