  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well I got this off a free site. It's the address that you can write to...to get a presidential greeting for your child. I Sent mine off about a week after Lilly was born, not expecting to get anything back..but, worth a try..since no one on the free site had posted they got theirs(actually some had posted they never did). Well saturday we received it through the mail. It come in a envelope from the white house...the greeting kind of looks like a fancy post card with the presidential seal...They are made in bulk and stamped with the president's and his wife's signature..so your child's name will not be on it...however the envelope is addressed to your child in real hand writing...though I am positive that it is not the president's..lol. The card basically talks of how happy they are for our new arrival, that lilly will use her talents, and that she is now part of the american story. It's a great keepsake for your child...I framed ours for her(the card and the envelope). Heres the address:

White house presidential greetings office
Room 39
Washington, D.C. 20500

Include your baby's name, address, and D.O.B...not sure why they needed her D.O.B.

All and all it was pretty cool and can't wait to give it to her when she is older.

That's cute. My brother was a huge fan of Bush Sr. when he was in office (it was kind of cute because he was only 8 or 9 years old at the time). His school class had to write letters to Santa to be printed in the town newspaper and his Christmas wish was for an autographed picture of the president. Apparently someone at the paper found it really cute, too, because they sent a copy of his letter to the White House. A month or so later, my brother got his very own autographed (stamped) 8 x 10 picture of Bush Sr. LOL, he was thrilled. He framed it and it sat on his mantlepiece over his fireplace in his bedroom for years...at least until he moved out on his own.

It was kind of a joke in the family because we've always been pretty staunch southern democrats. :D:D

Anyway, I guess the White House is pretty interested in public relations, too.
