It was a rather productive day here in Houston. The ship has begun to turn. :)

Rest assured my dear friends that the majority of Lutheran Church Canada members, Clergy, and executive are rejoicing; and I am sure offering prayers of Thanksgiving!

God is good; and His mercy endures forever!

American Lutheran Publicity Bureau has outstanding coverage.
Not interested in what they have to offer. They were the biggest advocate of Kieshnick and their propaganda will live on if they are encouraged.

Even though Harrison won it is not the time for the conservative/confessionals to sit back on their laurels. There has been a long history of Kieshnicks influence in the synod along with his cronies from Jesus First and Daystar. These groups were part of the remnants of the "forgiven" by Pres Preuss during the Seminex exodus who forgave then and welcomed them back in. That was a big mistake on Pruess' part since they have wrecked havoc ever since. They incorporated the old Charismatic movement from Missouri and joined it with the liberals to form one of the strongest political mcahines in the history in the LCMS. The ALPB is also part of this political machine and started back in WWI as a group that promoted "relevance". That's still the big theme song of this whole machine.

Kieshnick is not a new phenomenon. This movement was germinating even in CFW Walther's time. If it isn't constantly monitored it will assuredly raise its ugly head again.

All this namby-pamby forgiveness and reconciliation will give them the impetus to gain back what they have lost for they are a political movement and not governed by the Bible. Forgiveness needs to be given with both eyes open.

I was wondering who they were, but had not taken time to look them up. Now that I do, yeah, think I will stick with more confessional sites and such.

I had my two minutes of fame at the convention. I was able to make a major amendment to the resolution on how circuit counselors are elected. The original wording of the resolution allowed district presidents to nominate candidates for circuit counsellor, which introduced a "top down" element into our polity. I suggested an amendment which changed the word "nominate" to "suggest" (along with some other wording changes) that keeps the nomination and election process in the hands of the congregations. To my surprise, the floor committee accepted it as a "friendly amendment" which means that it didn't need to be voted on and was part of the final resolution that was passed.

:thumbsup: Considering that most resolutions and ammendments to the Constitution and bylaws were submitted to consolidate more power to the admin I would say yours was a major accomplishment.
