Aside from being spiritually prepared, what should one do to be materialistically prepared for disaster?
Nuked
EMP
What do you, as a Christian, think overdoing it might be?
We are stocked with a few things
Might last a few weeks

At what point does trusting in The Lord come into play?

Your thoughts?
Bible texts?
EG White quotes?

Ellen White says that stock piling food wont work - it will just be taken away when things get really bad

She says that living in a more country setting is the best defense since it avoids problems with crowding together when certain civil legislation starts turning against religious practices.

She also predicts a time before that where being able to "mill your own wheat" will be a big plus, indicating that stores will be short on supplies for reasons other than religious issues in politics and civil law.

She had a vision/dream where she was in a home in the country - an Angel showed up and led her up to a mountain cave where other Christians had gathered. She said that this indicated that when the times to leave homes - the angels show up to take/guide the saints to the appointed place

==============================

However she has a big focus on Christians being forced to "stand singly and alone" and give a defense for their faith in public or court room settings - and that many people well then be surprised how confused and disorganized their understanding of their own faith is - as they are called to give an account.

Well my brother I think what they taught us growing up is the best.. I should find a desk bring it home.. one you can open put all food drinks in and hide under. pfft getting old.

Well God never promised us tomorrow but that being said its wise to prepare. I think things that can last many many years is wise to stock up on. I remember many years ago on youtube this believer.. short story is he and all of them are not where they were when they started. Most moved on since nothing what so ever happened. We can over due it for sure. Pray about it.. really ask He will give you a peace lead you

Adventist yearly camp meetings are also meant to be a way of preparing belivers for the national Sunday law.

Some people are not used to outdoor life so the meetings are meant to help people adapt, by forsaking all the luxuries at home, such as a nice hot bubble bath, luxurious food including Netflixing & chilling among other things, for a few days..

Learning to bath in stream water, eating wild fruit for dinner, using one's palm for a pillow instead and whatnot.

I've often thought on that.
I only study an hour a day
It seems so little, yet it remains a struggle

I do know the Holy Spirit is working on me, as my desires and concerns have changed so

I'm pretty much in constant prayer

However, I have a concern
I read a lot of EG Whites writings
I need to devote more time to The Bible

@BobRyan
How do you study?
Topic?
By chapter?
I've heard Strongs concordance is a great help....

Consider making a folder in your PC or a notebook and write down some Bible topics that you consider to be most important or most likely that someone might ask you about. As you read your bible you will come across statements that stand out to you as applicable to one of your topics of interest - so add it to your list under that topic and maybe a note on why you think it is helpful there.

I had to do that a number of years ago and it has paid off.

I must get my notes organized
I think the effort will be well worth it

Thank you @BobRyan

You are welcome my friend. And don't forget the threads under "General Theology' section and in "Sabbath and the Law" here on CF. you might find some posts there that get you up to almost 80% on some topics.
