Pregnancy Question

Can I got some in put on the stages of Pregnancy. What to expect, and all that great stuff? Just curiuos because I have absoutely no idea on all of this pregnancy stuff. I have never been before. So I am a little scared at this point. If you have any information, any tips, please post them! THANK YOU!!!

Oh congratulations! Im so jealous! lol Id love 10 more if i could! I had an amazing pregnancy, i had a little morning sickness for the 1st few months, but apart from that i sailed through without any problems.However, according to the docotrs i gave birth 5 weeks early, but i think they are wrong as my daughter was a good weight and we was home the next day! Did i tell you about my 61 minute labour *Smiles smuggly* he he
I wish you the best of luck. Each pregnancy is different so don't worry about stories you hear good or babd, as only God knows what's in store for us all. But i will pray all goes well for you. God bless and take care.

It is nice to know that there are still people out there that really care and think of pregnancy as a blessin. I know that earlier I didn't sound like I thought of this as a blessing, but honestly I am a little excited. I am just a little worried about finances and stuff like that.

Congratulations, that is wonderful! Most of the time I loved being pregnant with my son. He is 2 now. The only thing I really had a hard time with was morning sickness. It was horrible. As someone else said, Babycenter is good for that. I am a member of the UK babycentre and have found it quite good don't know about the American one.

Children are indeed a blessing and let us know how you go. What is your due date?

Don't worry about your finances too much or it will take away some of your excitement.
If you breast feed (Which is a truly wonderful expericence ,if it's possible for you to do so) Then that's Gods free baby juice. There are three stages i think to breast milk. The 1st stage is like water ,to quench babes thrist.2nd is a bit thicker for like a light lunch.Lol, and the 3rd is the really rich necter, which will fatten your lil love up nicely. So there we have reduced the costs of bottles, sterilizers and so on. My family & friends gave me so much clothes and stuff i didn't have to buy a thing until my child was walking! lol just bits and pieces like nappies, bibs and vests and such.Are you going to find out the sex? I didn't it's such a great surprise though i knew and hoped in my heart i would have a girl. (I would have loved a son just as much!)
A lil tip i wouldgive would be don't use a dummy if you can, i was lucky my daughter didn't like them. Also once babes is walking switch from a bottle to a beaker.This will be much better for their lil teeth once they come through.Placing pureed food in ice cube trays is very handy as well once your child is on solids.Oh goodness, i'll shut up now before i bore you to tears! I forgot about the financial side of it. When our son was born my husband wasn't working so it was a very hard time for us. I had to pray and ask God to provide for us, and he did. I didn't have to buy hardly any clothes, I didn't have to buy a cot, or bassinet (I used handed down ones, which were fine condition) same with the high chair. I used cloth nappies, which a lot of people say is so much hard work, it's not too bad. Mind you R wasn't working in the early days so he helped with all that, and by the time he found a job, I was in the routine or it. I am still using them as Daniel isn't potty trained yet. I have found the cloth nappies to be cheaper. I don't know what the price of disposables is where you are, but to me it worked out cheaper.

Also, have you got parents or in-laws that are supportive of you and your unborn baby? I found mine to be great, in terms of helping out with things our son needs. R is working now, but Daniel is the only grandchild so they tend to spoil him a bit. I also find that I can buy a lot of toys and little extras for Daniel from second hand shops and apparently e-bay is pretty good (although I've never bought anything through e-bay, just have heard that it is great, lot's of bargains)

The other thing I will point out, is if you buy second hand baby equipment, make sure you check the safety aspects of it. eg. are the cot bars spaced too wide that a baby's head could get stuck, and is it sturdy enough. Just little things like that.

Also, about the dummies, if you can get by without them, it's cool, but if you can't don't ever feel guilty about having to use one. My son was a very sucky baby, he would feed (I breastfed) until he went to sleep and then when I would put him into the bassinet, he would wake up and wouldn't settle until he was feeding again. The day we went home from hospital he was sick all over the paediatrician, the paediatrician basically said, that if he was a sucky baby, he might be better with a dummy. We gave him one and never looked back. However, we have gotten rid of it this week, without any problems. I also don't think it has any negative impact on his teeth, apparently it is better for them than sucking their thumb.

There are some programs for pregnant women and new moms. It's called WIC, I dont' know if you've heard of it or not. It gives you food items for example milk eggs cheese ect..... and if you find you can't breast feed you baby(I had that problem with my first one) They give you coupons for formula. They also have you come in for nutrition tips for you and baby.

I wish someone would have told me about this program the first time I got pregnant I like you was very young(17 had him at 18) and could have used all the help I could get. My prayers are with you and coming little one.

There are many good programs out there you just have to hunt alittle , in our town there is a mentoring program called the doula program that will match a young mom with a friend who will meet with you once a week, there are parenting classes which i think all parents should have to take, and many that will help with clothes, food and such. just keep your eyes out on boards and look in your phone book under community resourses, or women organizations. I was a young mom too, it is a hard job but very rewarding.

I agree, breastfeeding is wonderful, and very cost effective! I breastfed both of mine - they were both around 15-16 months when they completely weaned. It is a bit painful for the first week or so, until you get use to it, and then it is no big deal.

My first trimester with both pregnancies was great except for hte morning sickness/evening sickness. With my first prgnancy I was tired a lot, but with second one wasn't as bad.

The second trimester with both was great. I felt good and that is when you first feel them move - it is absolutely amazing. I would count down the days until the next appointment so that I could hear the heartbeat again.

Third trimester was okay. I had both my children in the fall so, the summer heat was terrific. But at that point you can't wait to see your little one and you think that every little pain might be "the one".

Best advice - towards the end of the pregnancy - le tthe answering machine pick up. I was so sick of people calling to see if I was in labor yet. I was a week late with my daughter and it drove me crazy. For my son, I lied about the due date and told everyone that it was a week later than what it was - Glad I did because I was a week late again.

Enjoy this time and cherish every moment of it. It is truly a gift from above!

There's a book called "What To Expect When You're Expecting". I don't remember who the author is. I read it during my pregnancies. It's really informative. You can get it at Wal-Mart. Also, there's a CD that I saw advertised on Chrisitan televison. I ordered it for my SIL who just had a baby and intend to order it for my other SIL who is about to have a baby. It's supposed to help babies sleep better. Some hospitals use it to help babies with special problems. You can get it at http://babygotosleep.com/ They have a secular and a Christian version of it.

Babycenter ROCKS!

I still get the weekly developmental emails and my son is 19 months old.

Also The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy is a great book.

As far as the money goes, I know from personal experience that the child of a praying parent never goes hungry.

also, if you have a low income, each state has a free or low cost health insurance program. It has been a Godsend to me! If you are interested, I will hunt up the address for the state-by-state guidelines.

Please keep us all posted on your feelings and stuff. We parents love to give each other advice!!

I loved what to expect when you are expecting it told step by step what the baby looked like what was growing and such. I tried to just read one month at a time lol but always skipped ahead abit. I tried to nurse my first child but I didnt really know how to get a good latch and ended up being a very painful, so I stopped at 6 weeks, my second child I read up on it and the hospital was much more informative It was 7 yrs later so I was more confident and had more experience I ended up nursing for a year and loved it. It is very conveniant my sleep was not as interrupted because I had her in a bassinet right beside me and when she woke up in the middle of the night I would just latch her on and doze, so I never felt sleep deprived and it is much more cost efficient.

If you are planning to nurse I would suggest reading up on it, because if it doesnt work right away it can hurt and be frustrating.
