Yes, I already understood that you believe that. I'm asking for the date that you think the flood occurred.
I don't have access to my Scofield Study Bible right now; but offhand, I think it's around 2450 BC.

Nope its the other way around, the bible claims that mizraim founded egypt, if anything they named a decedent after egypt, since that was what they called it.Sumeria, which some claimed existed before the Flood, was actually founded by Noah's great-grandson, thus after the Flood.
They like to claim Egypt existed before the Flood also, overlooking that the first Egyptian was Mizraim, Noah's grandson.
[bible]Genesis 10:6[/bible]
That's great, but the Egyptians left records of rulers going back to ~3100 BC.

naming people after a country to form some sort of hierarchy is pretty common in early history, greeks made up many origins of cities that way
by the way ungaritic called Egypt MSM, i doubt they are going to bow to israels claims of origins nor would the egyptians
So I guess the Egyptians, like many other people around the world, didn't even notice the global flood that was supposedly happening during their 5th or 6th dynasty. Or did God create the apparently continous record of Egyptian history as part of his plan to "clean up" evidence of the global flood?

Frumious, do you know how silly this line of questioning is?
Anyone who was alive at the time of the Flood, didn't live to write about it afterward - (with the exception, of course, of Noah).
Please don't tell me that what you're looking for (or have looked for) is documentation from a whole nation that there was a global flood?
You're not that naieve, are you?
You really shouldn't be using the word "naive" to describe others.Frumious, do you know how silly this line of questioning is?

It is not the line of questioning that is silly. It is the line of answering. Claiming that there was a global flood in 2450 BC during the late Vth Egyptian dynasty after there had been a least 40 recorded kings of Egypt, and after the war between Lakash and Umma in Mespotamia is what is totally silly.Frumious, do you know how silly this line of questioning is?
Then why didn't any of the myriad people on earth who were alive in 2450 BC even notice it? They kept right on keeping on in the same places they have been living for thousands of years and weren't the least bit bothered by this supposed global flood.Anyone who was alive at the time of the Flood, didn't live to write about it afterward - (with the exception, of course, of Noah).
No I understand from the documentary and archeological evidence of several whole nations as well as a huge mass of scienfic evidence, that as the OP states "The Global Flood is a fantasy".Please don't tell me that what you're looking for (or have looked for) is documentation from a whole nation that there was a global flood?
I am not sufficiently naive to believe that my interpretion of a collection of Bronze Age Hebrew origins stories trumps both history and science. That is your problem. You're not that naieve, are you?
So, you imagine the Bible record to to falible and the Egyptian record to be tried and true ---- without distortions, lies, myth, and tall tales? I feel the Egyptian Monarchs had a lot to cover up. I feel that the kings of Egypt wanted to prove that they had always been superior to their subjects. I think you place far too much faith in man's record when it suits your attack against GOD's WORD.It is not the line of questioning that is silly. It is the line of answering. Well, I do know that they had the nasty habit of chiseling out the names and notations on monuments of enemies and rulers that fell into disfavor. Gives a twist to chiseler and being dis'd.Probably not many of us here have actually studied Egyptian history in depth, have we?
It's pretty pointless to argue about it until we do. I have studied the Sumerians some, but not enough that I can teach somebody about it.
Let's learn instead of argue.
Your imagination has nothing to do with reality. You not only imagine that the Bible is God's word but that it has not been significantly altered in many translations and you imagine that your interpretation of what you imagine to be God's unaltered word is the only correct one. The Egyptian King's lists are not perfect but they would have to be off by thousands of years to fit all of Egyptian history and prehistory into a world that suffered a global flood in 2450 BC. Sumerian history would also have to be off thousands of years. There is overwhelming evidence that by 3000 BC, more than 500 years before this supposed global flood, there were civilization in Egypt, Mesopotamia, Europe, China and India that had been developing for long periods of time and continued to develop with no evidence of any interuption by a globa flood. So, you imagine the Bible record to to falible and the Egyptian record to be tried and true ---- without distortions, lies, myth, and tall tales? Leaving out a few rulers won't help you because that would mean that their history would stretch back even futher in time.Well, I do know that they had the nasty habit of chiseling out the names and notations on monuments of enemies and rulers that fell into disfavor. Gives a twist to chiseler and being dis'd.
