• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Thank you, It's amazing- and very meaningful that you said a prayer for me, we have never even met, and your sending love, that is awesome, I have been really strugling with the bad habit and also feeling under the weather, your prayer means alot! since I have been homebound it's even more meaningful to have your support, may god bless you, and you are in my prayers as well.

I also wanted to add- that I was raised christian but never really prayed or felt that god was here, just recently I have been praying for guidance and the truth, and to filled with the holy spirit, I know that I have to kick sinful habits out of my life, yet continue to strugle with the cigs, I hope god understands my strugles and gives me strenght to lead a healthier life, I just wanted to share that with you.
May god be with you, and bless you.

Thank you for the prayers, I'm still strugling with the habit. I have found that if I break of most of the cig, and just smoke about a fifth at a time, then I don't feel as ill, and only need about a cig a day.
I also have had depression, and I think I may have to take medicine in order to get past the depression withdrawl, the first time I quit I was taking some neurological medicine, that kept me from getting to scatterbrained during withdrawl, but I really don't like pills so I have been trying to quite without them.

Thanks for the love and support.

I have smoked for 30 years, more than half my entire life. I started praying a while about for God to give me the strength to put those smokes down. For some time I just felt I wasn't ready. Then nearly 3 weeks ago I got up one morning, (felt really lousy), and i told my hubby I had 1 pack left and when I finish it I'm quitting. That was 19 days ago. I have visited several stop smoking sites, this truly helps me. When I get the urge, I try to get on here. I still feel uncomfortable not smoking, because it was a part of me for so long. It's hard to stop, but with Christ, all things are possible.
Prayers for you
