  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello all,

I have a few questions about praying the Rosary.

I have seen the single decade Rosary and I'm interested in knowing how you pray it.

Can you pray the rosary in parts? For example, Say I'm at work and get a 10 minute break. Can I say just one mystery, then go back to work, then say another mystery later, and so on until I have said the entire Rosary.

Also, what posture should I have while saying the Rosary. I usually sit on my bed, or in my favorite chair. I also like to walk, and have to walk quite a bit as I don't have a car. Can I say the Rosary while walking?

Thanks you for your help.

Hi Elizbeth!

I often say the rosary in parts- so, for example, if I get to a meeting early, I'll say a decade (a mystery) or two while I wait- it's a great prayer for using in this way. I use my fingers to count (I've done that for years) the Hail Marys. I've said the Rosary while walking, or sitting in my car or at a train station.
Hopes this helps!

I also wondered if there was a right way and a wrong way to pray the rosary.

I do pray the rosary in decades mor often than not, but each monday morning i go to my uncles home, and because he is a bachelor and doesn't have much of a clue ( yeah, i'm not slating all you guys, so hold your typewriter keyboard steady!), i clean his home for him, this usually taken an hour and a half and during that time i pray the whole rosary out loud ( my uncle goes out usually).

It helps me get through those not so nice tasks too!
