  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!" Luk 15 Can see the chapter referenced about the prodigal son.

Praying and thanking our heavenly Father for the prodigals that will come to themselves.

As the ultimate prodigal, who fell away for 30 years, I fervently stand in prayerful agreement. His mercy endures forever and He IS the grace covenant keeper. And for the unbelievers, as long as they draw breath, no one is beyond redemption. No one!

Oh.. and an additional prayer... that as the prodigals return to the Loving Father, that they don't run into the Older Brother first.

Thank you Father!!!

You too huh? 30 years is a long time, and it passed like a fortnight. Looking back, He knew I would break my every promise, but He never broke His. I think so much of Peter these days, and how Christ restored him, asking three times, Do you love me? Feed my sheep.

Perfect example. Christ knew Peter's faith would remain despite the momentary cowardice - He even instructed him ahead of time to return and strengthen his brothers after he was restored. He knew his answer to "Do you love me?" before He even asked - before he even denied Him in fact. He knows our own hearts better than we do.

Whew! for all of us, eh?
