I have heard that praying for people we don't like or those who have really hurt us, not only breaks stuff off in the spirit realm, but also blesses both parties.

What are some good prayers to pray in these situations? Has anyone done this with any success?

Thanks!!

Two perfect examples are Jesus Christ and Stephen.

As Lord Jesus was being lifted up on the cross, He prayed, "Father, forgive them. They know not what they do."

As Stephen was being stoned to death by the Pharisees, he prayed, "Lord, lay not this sin to their charge!"

Because Stephen prayed this, Paul (then Saul), who was present at his stoning and approved of his murder, was later transformed by the power of Christ into the Apostle to the Gentiles, and wrote most of the New Testament.

The commandment is "Love those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who persecute and despitefully use you, so that you will be the true children of your Father in Heaven."

The Lord's prayer is another example, and method. That is, pray through it slowly, meditating on each phrase. When you come to "forgive us our traspasses, as we forgive those who have traspassed against us", think of those whom you need to forgive. Ask God to help you to forgive them, and release them.

This won't happen all at once. But, as you continue to do this, this forgiving, releasing prayer will wash over you, as waves wash against a rock, and will mold and reshape your heart.

I'm convinced that's why the Lord told us to do so. I was unable to forgive my ex-husband for leaving for years. I began to ask the Lord to help me want to forgive him, and want to pray for him. The Lord did, forgiveness came soon afterward, and it was then I realized that I was the one who had been in prison all those years, held captive by my justified hurt and anger. The Lord freed ME when I forgave him, he in fact never really "got it," but it made all the difference in my life. I pray you experience the changing power this brings. God bless.

Thank all of you for your answers. I have more bitterness and unforgiveness than I thought.

I have heard so many people saying what covenantwmn said, that forgiving our enemies, is freeing to us.

All of your answers really helped me, and I am thanking God in advance for freeing me from my anger, bitterness and unforgiveness.

God bless you all. :0)

Forgiveness unlocks the gate to heaven for all of us. God forgives us and we must forgive those who have upset us also. It is the key and the way. Much Love to You...

Father we pray for Your Holy Spirit to enter this matter and meet all needs.
We know nothing is impossible for You and we pray for Your divine intervention.
As Your children we know to expect a miracle. It is in Jesus Beloved, Holy, Gentle and Mighty Name we pray.
Amen
