Prayers.

Brothers and sisters in Christ. Jesus did teach us what we shall pray,and how. Should that not then be the only prayer? I mean,now we have a lot of them,well,"Ave Maria" is one I like to keep,it is so beautiful in Latin,but all the others. Christ says that our Heavenly Father know all what we want or need before we even know it our self,why then pray other prayers. Well,I love to pray,and will not stop,but thinking at it is in The Bible that prayer Jesus did teach us is the only one we need. Am I right or wrong?

Jesus gave us a model of how to pray it's certainly praiseworthy to pray the Our Father much... but we can also follow that model to pray other prayers. We can pray in other ways too... like the Hail Mary as you said - which also has divine origins, I mean the first part is God's message to Mary through Archangel Gabriel!

What about the psalms? I am sure that Jesus prayed the psalms throughout his life.

I love the Psalms and singing some of the Psalms is also sooo cool.

I think the Our Father hits all points on how we should pray. It starts by reverencing God. We pray for the Kingdom to come....we ask for His will to be done here as it is in Heaven. We ask for our daily needs... we ask forgiveness but there is a reminder... to be merciful because we ask God to forgive us as we forgive others. To be delivered from evil & so on. It pretty much covers everything. It's pretty much a summery of the whole gospel.
