  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My little girl, Olivia, is eleven months old.  She started her life off spending 10 days in the NICU and now, this coming Thursday, after umpteen ear infections, she's getting tubes placed in her ears.  She cries quite a lot and is in a lot of discomfort, pulling on her ears.  Tomorrow after the 10:30 Mass, she's receiving the Sacrament of the Sick.  Please pray for her that procedure goes well and that the tubes will ease her pain and discomfort.  God bless you all.

To Jukes:

My son had the tubes put in his ears three times. The difference they make is nothing less than amazing. A bit of advice: go to a hearing aid dealer and get plain earmolds made for her. They work better than the "dunking cotton in vaseline" for bathtime. Your insurance may even cover the cost.

If you need a shoulder to cry on, I'm here.

Peace be with you,
~VOW

Well, thanks and God bless you all for your prayers. The procedure went fine. Other than she and momma being really, really, really, and I MEAN really cranky, things are going good. Olivia's slept a lot and momma is headed that way shortly. You know, one of the craziest things is that a baby can't have anything to eat or drink after midnight. So, needless to say, the usual 2 am feeding was missed and baby wasn't very happy.......we stayed awake for awhile!
