prayers for the Pope's safety

of course it's disturbing as is, but saw this little blurb towards the end of the article and found it even more disturbing:

In the past, al Qaeda has also plotted unsuccessful assassination attempts against U.S. President Bill Clinton and Pope John Paul II, as well as then-president Fidel Ramos of the Philippines.

of course, it's not an old thing for the Pope to be the target of assassination either, but al qaeda is such a real threat that prayers couldn't hurt.

Lord, please round up everyone in al Qaeda and bring them to justice before they can do anymore harm to anyone. Amen.
