Dear friends at CF,

I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Aerospace last year, and as of now I am still waiting tables at O'Charleys in town. I moved to Florida where I thought I had a job waiting, but found out there are no certainties in life. After a year of big changes, I am much closer to the Lord, and I trust His judgment.

I ask for your prayers that the Lord will lead me to a career that I can make a difference in. A job with substance, whether in the field of Aerospace, or not. What matters most to me is discerning God's will, and I have to admit I am feeling a little lost in this regard.

Thank you, and God bless,

Neal

Glorious St. Joseph, model of all who are dedicated to labor, obtain for them the grace to work in the spirit of love and faithfully to place their responsibilities above their own desires. Help them to work with joy and gratitude. Let them consider it an honor to use and develop the gifts they have received from God. Aid them to work with order, peace, moderation, and patience. Help them to work above all for the glory of God and the coming of his kingdom.
May they remember that they are to give an account of the gifts and talents they have received.
Amen

Heavenly Father, we remember before you those who suffer want and anxiety from lack of work. Guide the people of this land so to use our public and private wealth that all may find suitable employment, and receive just payment for their labor, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O God, the Creator of all things, you have made us in your own image so that we may find joy in creative work: have mercy on all those who are unemployed, and those who find their work dull, especially for those recently graduated. Help us to build a society where all may have work and find joy in doing it, for the good of our world and the glory of your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God, our Father, I turn to you seeking your divine help and guidance as I look for suitable employment. I need your wisdom to guide my footsteps along the right path, and to lead me to find the proper things to say and do in this quest. I wish to use the gifts and talents you have given me, but I need the opportunity to do so with gainful employment. Do not abandon me, dear Father, in this search, but rather grant me this favor I seek so that I may return to you with praise and thanksgiving for your gracious assistance. Grant this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

O God, who made us in your image and intended us for creative work; look with love on those of us who are unemployed. Help us to enjoy life together with those who have work
and to understand what kind of help we need to give one another, whether in paid employment or not. Guide the leaders of our country, that they may take wise decisions which will benefit us all. Finally we ask you Lord to guide us in the knowledge that we all have worth in ourselves and that we are all of equal value in your eyes, through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.

O God, Who wills not the death of a sinner, but rather that he be converted and live, grant, we beseech Thee through the intercessions of the Blessed Mary, ever Virgin and all the Saints an increase of laborers for Thy Church, fellow laborers with Christ to spend and consume themselves for souls through the same Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in Unity of the Holy Spirit world without end. Amen.

hey Neal,
I am sorry to hear about your difficulties. I will be graduating from Georgia Tech in the summer with a degree in mechanical engineering, and will be in the same boat you are in. My plans are just to take this one day at a time and try to discern where God is leading me. Though it may seem like distress to not be getting a job, it could also be a blessing. I want to make sure that I would be ready at any point, if God so choses for me, to embrace a life of poverty and enter the monastic way of life. Sure, I will look for a job. And if I get one I will try to get some experience in the work force and work for a few years before giving it up to seek God. But God may have other plans for me. We'll just have to see, but I will be praying for you.

I hope everything goes well between you and natalie as well. From what you have told me, she seems like a great match for you. May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

Dear Neal, Aaron, and Dave,

I will pray that all three of you are able to find a good job soon and get good promotions. Trust in God.

Dear Dave:

My dad graduated from Georgia Tech -- it's a top notch school. You picked a winner. Congratulations.

Lovingly yours in Christ our God,
Elizabeth
