Prayers For Difficult People

Do you have someone difficult or toxic in your life? I do right now. I've tried to distance myself from her because she's always bringing me down, but she always finds me. I noticed that I complain and gossip more when I'm around her. She will say something that really gets me riled up and angry at someone or something and I have to catch myself and say... oh.... that's the devil stirring up trouble! Stop it! So, instead of avoiding her, I have decided to try and ask her about anything positive that happened this week or change the subject to something funny or light n positive.

I pray for the Lord to help me be kind to her. She's had nothing but negativity all of her life and I don't think she knows how to be anything else. Lord, help me be a good example and to show her that despite her troubles and trials, she can still rejoice in salvation and Your goodness. She can find happiness and blessing instead of complaining and whining. Please help me be a light when she's down and give her comfort so that she can focus on what's important and not what's trivial. Above all, give her peace.

I hope that all of you who are enduring someone like this stay strong and remember to be kind. If you have some words of wisdom on how you're gracefully dealing with someone toxic or difficult, please share, and of course, let's all pray for one another.

I can relate to that. I have a close neighbour that has endured a lot of hardships growing up and now when he is very successful (in a wordly sense), he constantly talks about negative stuff and materialism. It catches on to me as well.
