Prayers for a Veterans Event

Thanks to everyone who prayed me through a difficult time recently . Your prayers were felt and appreciated.

I come today to ask for prayers for an upcoming event I am hosting at my Cinema . I pray that not only will it be succsessful in that it reaches out to many veterans , but that I will keep my head and lot let my focus come off the Lord and the intent of the event and wind up on me.

I am praying that I will keep my ego out of this and remember why I started this in the first place.

I need prayers of guidance and to keep my strength as I continue to try to get confirmations from various groups and sponsors .

For those curious , and especially those in the Houston Area , the event is called "Operation Welcome Home : A Salute to our Nation's Heroes" .

It is being help July 23 from 12 -4 at the cinema in Greenspoint Mall. We will have several veterans service organizations on hand , especially those who help the families ( or so I continue to pray ) , a color guard , our city councilman and US Congressional Rep will be there and will be our guest speakers.

The main focus of the event is to honor and reach out to the Veterans , Military personnel and their families and to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.

It is my hearts desire that this event reaches many veterans and not only says " Thank You" , but offers hope to them by connecting them with groups that can help.

Again I pray , that I keep my focus on the event and the Lord, and not on myself and that my strength does not flag as I get closer to the big day and that my current frustration level does not overtake me.

Thanks for all of your continued prayers. The event is growing larger by the day , it seems.

At this point in time , over 20 Veterans service groups have committed to attend. and the list is growing .

Exciting part was for me that a representative from the Wounded Warrior Project will be on hand as one of our guest speakers as well as many veterans from the VA hospital will be there as our VIP guests.

Biggest challenge I am still facing is getting the word out and procuring sponsors, but that too , is coming together .

I must admit, A few surprise organizations have come forward to donate to the Silent Auction , which is the main fund raiser for the WWP.

I will continue to update everyone on "Operation Welcome Home"

Big Day is Here ! Finishing up a few last details and trying to relax before I have to be in early in the morning to over see the final set up .

Excited , yet nervous , praying for a smooth event that reaches and touches many .
