I don't know about the rest of you, but I had trouble sleeping last night, thinking about the devastation in New Orleans and other places(Buloxi etc).

It's mind boggling to see the images and the videos of the aftermath. Just to imagine a WHOLE CITY being uninhabitable like that! And it's not the only one. Where do 500,000 people go? Without jobs, places to live, any possesions? It's so very sad. The question is, will New Orleans ever be able to be rebuilt? I wonder. I know they will try, but I also wonder how the landscape got changed with all that water. Not to mention the rest of the Gulf Border.

I don't have much reason to post this, other than it helps to talk about it. I just can't wrap my mind around the implications of loosing a 1/2 million pop. city!

Matt and I will do what we can to help. We will be donating supplies and money through Goad International. They are friends of ours and they are in Florida, so it makes sense to donate there. If any of you are wondering who you may donate too, I would highly recommend them, as they truly do use your donations in practical help. They have been doing this for a while, and it is their primary mission--to help those who have practical needs. They have a website if you want to look at it.

I don't know if I'm allowed to promote like this, but it is an extrordinary situation and you know there will be many false groups popping up, saying that they are taking donations to help that will not. I figured I could at least point to one I know personally that specializes in this field.

Please keep praying for the safety of everyone down there, and that there will not be the outbreak of disease they are worried about.....

I know we have 2,000 refugees here at our Civic Center and ALL hotels and motels are full. There are coutless others staying with family (My parents and sister have members of our family staying with them) and friends.

Every town in Louisiana (from Baton Rouge westward) into most of East Texas is full of refugees. None will be able to go back east for the foreseeable future.

Pray the Lord use this to let his Church rise to the occassion and bring glory to His name.

Coram Deo,
Kenith
