Hi single people!
If I can't be honest and vulnerable here amongst believers, where can I be... I recently renewed my commitment to God and celibacy, and it's scary because I know this is an area which can be a source of a huge amount of temptation. Please pray for me so that I may take this day-by-day decision to keep mind, body and soul as pure as God intended. Pray that God may fulfil my life with many other good elements like Godly people and activities, so that I walk with Jesus every step of the way.
Specifically, please pray that I do not get overwhelmed by these pressures:
- Loneliness
- Loss of identity in Christ
- Urge to sin in order to fit in
- Forgetting the high value God puts on my purity
- Impatience in finding a husband (and help in accepting that marriage may not be in God's plan for my life - that's the toughest one)
- lack of courage to tell others (especially male friends) about my renewed commitment
- feeling that the Hollywood-style romance is the only way to have a relationship
I am already praying for these things, but a few more prayers can only strengthen my fight against these struggles. Of course I am always happy to pray for you too! Whatever those prayer needs may be.
