• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello beautiful people!

I've been suffering from bulimia for around 4 years. There have been months where I've been doing really well but then I'd just relapse back into this "comfort"... April was considered a good month for me until I went on a trip with a group of people from my school. Then my old habits started coming back, once again. I've been throwing up just about every day since then. The thing is, I really do want to give this up for God... it seems like i've given everything else, BUT this to Him. I feel like i'm some-what of a failure because I've tried to stop a number of times, but I find myself coping with my problems through this horrible habit. It's kind of discouraging... but I know I can do it... It's just going to take just about everything that I have in myself. I'm kind of scared to do that... But I know that God needs to help me. Could you pray that I'll let him take this from me along? Thank you, so much.

Grace and peace to you,

I'd like to encourage you to have hope. Hope is always available in the presence of our God.

I've seen 20 year alcoholics delivered from alcohol instantly, never to have another drink nor a symptom of withdrawl. I know severe drug addicts who were delivered from their addictions instantly without withdrawls.

God's riches are available for us all.

Please keep praying to Him. Don't just seek deliverance, but seek His face first and foremost. Seek Him in faith, believing.

Never give up. All things are possible to him that believes.

These aren't just "happy words"....they are Truth. Jesus said that His Words "are Spirit and they are Life." God "sent forth His word and they were healed..."

Keep His Word planted and rooted in your heart.

To Him be the glory...

Tim L.

Thank you to all of you who have prayed for me. I very much appreciate it. God has been working in me, a lot. For the first time in a long time the other day, I felt free. The chains were broken. I pray that it will continue to be this way and I won't turn back to those nasty habits. Thank you for all your encouragement, if you remember, please keep up the prayers! I'll be praying for ya'll as well!
