In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'd like to suggest we pray together for our spouses just occasionally.

I edited this to include names here for easy reference.
Ourselves on the left, our loved-ones yet to be saved on the right:

:groupray:

Hopeful45 and her husband
Stephanie and Douglas
Starelda and Phil
Chris and Pam
Washed Clean and Mark
Pete56 and his wife Sue
Tonya and "a loved one"
Blue Impulse and Tuan
Angieh and Chris
Susana and Dave

:groupray:

We could list their names here, and come and read through them all and offer a prayer to the Lord for each other too.

Maybe include a scripture or a prayer that's helped you and might bless others too.

Doesn't have to be real names if that's awkward for anyone: God will know who you mean!

I'm praying for Dave to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour. I recently read about Moses interceeding for Israel and have thanked the Lord for assurance that He hears me.

Psalm 106:23

So (God) said he would destroy them-
had not Moses, his chosen one,
stood in the breach before him
to keep his wrath from destroying them.

Reminds me of the urgency but also of God's desire for all to be saved and His willingness to listen to our prayers on behalf of the lost.

Blessings all, Susana

I think this is a great idea!

I am praying for Sue to allow the Lord Jesus into her heart and to be her Lord and Saviour.

The most reasuring scripture I have received this year was Habakuk 2:3 "But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, wait patiently, for it willsurely take place. It will not be delayed" [NLT]

I was led to this scripture after a period of crying out to the Lord asking How long before you fulfil your promise to save my Sue? Isn't the Lord great?!! \0/.

Lord, I want to join with my sister Susana and lift up her husband Dave to you. Lord you know him better than he knows himself, touch him in the depths of his being, draw him to you and show him his need of you Lord. Come and flood his heart with a longing for you Lord. In your precious name Lord Jesus I pray. Amen.

Tonya, thanks for the encouragement!

Blue Impulse, don't be afraid to pray for Tuan.
It is absolutely vital that you do, and God wants him to know Him, so we can be sure we are praying in God's will:
1 Tim.2:
1I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone– 2for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

You are not taking freedom from your husband when you pray for them to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

You are in fact fighting for his real freedom from false spirits!
You can have as many discussions as you like with him, but he will still think Jesus Christ is one option of many. When you pray, you help God to reveal the truth to him.

Praying with you!

God bless, Susana

I pray right now for my husband, Chris, and his salvation... He has been close finding salvation but, I feel, maybe as a man he doesn't really understand how to let go and let God.. One night while I was praying deeply for my husband, I asked the Lord for a scripture I could claim.... Opened my Bible and this is what I found...
Isaiah 43:18-19
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland."

Angie:wave:
Have prayed for the above today and will continue to hold this group in prayer daily.

My husband is an awsome person, he probably makes a better Christian as he is right now than many hypocrits I've met over the years who HAVE accepted Jesus in to their lives but definately don't "walk the walk" so to speak.
I can really relate to this Blue. My husband is so wonderful, I have to pinch myself sometimes to make sure he's for real. I'm so blessed.

I had requested Erwin add this Unequally Yoked subforum over a year ago because I was desperate for fellowship with others in the same situation. I have made some great friends here, and although this area is not as active as I'd like, maybe that's a good thing. Being in an unequally yoked marriage can be so hard. I feel very blessed that God has given me a supportive and loving spouse.

I would covet any prayers for my husband, Mark. Susana - I've been praying for your beloved husband, Dave too. I will add all of you to my prayer list. :groupray:

I came to know the Lord on Easter Day. For some reason, I feel like Christmas may be the day my Mark will come to the Lord (maybe not this year, but something tells me) :holy:

Anyway, thanks for starting this thread Susana. I really needed it.

Blessings to all,

Jill

This is an awesome idea. Please, add my wife and me to your list. It's a bad time right now - other threads hold the details, not worth going into specifics anymore. My name is Chris, her name is Pam. We really need God's intervention in our marriage. Specifically, that He helps hasten a change of attitude in me and to get rid of this anger that I often feel about this divorce thing, and for her... whatever needs to be done to at least soften her heart to agree to stick with our marriage while we work things out.

Now that I know some names, I'll most certainly be praying for all of you, too.

Thanks so much!

Chris, brother - you got it.

Lord I pray for your blessing in the life of Chris and Pam. I thank you that you are already moving in their life and that you will not let go of them. Father pour out your oil of joy, peace and gladness into this marriage, open eyes, minds and hearts to help them through their disagreements and draw them closer together in love and in you Lord. In Jesus' precious name I pray

Pete

New names added to first post.

I was praying for us who love the Lord to receive strength to stick close to Him while we wait for our loved-ones' salvation, and He reminded me that He sticks to us "closer than a brother." I don't have any (flesh) brothers, but it gave me a lovely picture of what that might mean, and thought it might encourage you.

Proverbs 18:24
"A man of many companions may come to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."

Bless you all, Susana

I pray for my husband all the time. He was christened and taken to church and Sunday school as a child by his mum. If she still believes she doesn't really talk it but her nature definately seems like she does. Anyway, he has a great respect for Christianity because it formed a part of his childhood and he believes his mum to be a believer. I'm so thankful that he is so respectful towards the Bible, it's teachings and the church. It'd be nice to get his bum on a seat in the church but that may happen..who knows. His name is Phil. I shall be praying for all your spouses and lets keep hoping that someday they'll accept Christ into their hearts. :)

:prayer: Thank You so much Lord Jesus for coming to live among us, for saving us, and for offering this love to all who are willing.

Father I'm bringing our little prayer group before You this Christmas Eve to ask for Your grace as we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Please touch the hearts of each of our unbelieving loved ones:
Phil, Pam, Mark, Sue,Tonya's loved one, Tuan, Chris and Dave, and all those beloved of other visitors here.
Let this Christmas be another step in the right direction for each one.

And please help us who love Jesus:
Starelda, Chris, Washed Clean, Pete56, Tonya, Blue Impulse, Angieh, Susana, and every Christian here who shares this situation,
to remember and really experience Your love, grace, joy and peace in our hearts, as we may find ourselves pulled in different directions by our love for You and for those we love. In Jesus name, amen. :prayer:

God bless you all greatly, and thank you all for being here. This is my first Christmas on CF and I'm so glad I found you! have a very Happy and Blessed Christmas!

Love Susana
