  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This thread is designed as a place of prayer.

Please feel free to ask for any prayers that you may be needing right now, or post any prayers that you would like to share with others.

May this thread draw us closer together, as we draw near to the Lord!

To start it off:

Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank you for giving us the opportunity to gather here, in Your Name. May You bless us and abide within us, that we may glorify Your wonderful Name.

Forgive us for times when we stumble, Father, and help us to better reflect Your character with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

You are the One, Almighty God.

In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.

Sky--can we also use this thread as a praise report place?

If so, I want to give the highest praise to God for His answering our prayers in our community today where I live. Our county is trying to pass a terrible 'Nuisance Ordinance" that is pure communistic. Many of us got together and fought with prayer, petitions and meetings and phone calls and today forced the quorum court to back down from a YES vote!

So again, THANK YOU LORD FOR HEARING OUR PLEA'S FOR FREEDOM!

Of course it can. ^_^ Anything addressed to the Lord is fine here!

Praise God! It is amazing how He can help with anything, if we proceed in faith!

I would like prayer,

I am discouraged and in need of direction in my life regarding work and where to attend church

Dear Father,

I ask that you please be with Ice at this time, LORD. Comfort him and abide with him as You guide him in the choices he faces right now.

Let only Your will be done, Father. Lift him up in Your wonderful Spirit.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

One day a while back, a man, his heart heavy with grief, was walking in the woods. As he thought about his life this day, he knew many things were not right. He thought about those who had lied about him back when he had a job.

His thoughts turned to those who had stolen his things and cheated him. He remembered family that had passed on. His mind turned to the illness he had that no one could cure. His very soul was filled with anger, resentment and frustration.

Standing there this day, searching for answers he could not find, knowing all else had failed him, he knelt at the base of an old oak tree to seek the one he knew would always be there And with tears in his eyes, he prayed:

Lord-You have done wonderful things for me in this life. You have told me to do many things for you, and I happily obeyed. Today, you have told me to forgive. I am sad, Lord, because I cannot. I don't know how. It is not fair Lord. I didn't deserve these wrongs that were done against me and I shouldn't have to forgive. As perfect as your way is Lord, this one thing I cannot do, for I don't know how to forgive. My anger is so deep Lord, I fear I may not hear you, but I pray that you teach me to do this one thing I cannot do - Teach me To Forgive."

As he knelt there in the quiet shade of that old oak tree, he felt something fall onto his shoulder. He opened his eyes. Out of the corner of one eye, he saw something red on his shirt. He could not turn to see what it was because where the oak tree had been was a large square piece of wood in the ground. He raised his head and saw two feet held to the wood with a large spike through them He raised his head more, and tears came to his eyes as he saw Jesus hanging on a cross. He saw spikes in His hands, a gash in His side, a torn and battered body, deep thorns sunk into His head. Finally he saw the suffering and pain on His precious face. As their eyes met, the man's tears turned to sobbing, and Jesus began to speak.

Have you ever told a lie?" He asked?

The man answered - "yes, Lord"

Have you ever been given too much change and kept it?"

The man answered - " yes. Lord." And the man sobbed more and more.

Have you ever taken something from work that wasn't yours?" Jesus asked?

And the man answered - "yes, Lord."

Have you ever sworn, using my Father's name in vain? "

The man, crying now, answered - "yes, Lord."

As Jesus asked many more times, "Have you ever"? The man's crying became uncontrollable, for he could only answer - "yes, Lord."

Then Jesus turned His head from one side to the other, and the man felt something fall on his other shoulder. He looked and saw that it was the blood of Jesus. When he looked back up, his eyes met those of Jesus, and there was a look of love the man had never seen or known before.

Jesus said, "I didn't deserve this either, but I forgive you."

It may be hard to see how you're going to get through something, but when you look back in life, you realize how true this statement is.

Read the following first line slowly and let it sink in.

If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.
When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you! If you are one of the 7% who will stand up for him, send this to someone else with the Title 7%.

93% of people won't send this to anyone else.

Heavenly Father, we come before your throne of glory and mercy to ask that whatever the lump Woob found is harmless. We also ask that you help Ice find his way. We know that satan is going around devouring precious souls thru deception and we ask for Your power to overcome.

And that our prayer not be hindered, we confess our sinfulness and ask forgiveness for our sins. Thank you Father, because YOU are the faithful One--we are not. I praise and glorify you Lord because we can depend upon You to honor Your word and promises to us.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Lord for hearing us and answering.
In the precious name of Jesus our Savior we ask this, amen.

I would also like to ask prayer for something that is extremely important to not only our family, but literally, hundreds of families that is coming up soon. It is a legal matter and the issue will be judged in the next few weeks.

Please, please pray that we are successful in this case. Thank you friends. If we win this case--even this forum will be blessed. I wish I could reveal the details, but right now I cannot.

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

Your brother in Christ,
Doc

My brothers and sisters, it has been a very difficult last few days as we call family and make arrangements, and I would have added with heavy hearts but something happened that was nothing short of a miracle and a answer to prayer that lightened our load. I had previously written how with much prayer her life had been lengthen by over 5 years so she could give much witness and praise to God, after doctors had declared she only had weeks to live. Well we knew that eventually the wages of sin would come and make itself felt and she would rest to await Christ and his coming. When the doctors found the cancer had returned this time, it was in the bone and quickly spread and became painful to the point of making any movement almost impossible. We knew the time had come but specifically prayed that she would be with family and friends at her bedside, not a time that would leave her alone. Well on Sabbath, with many friends and family sharing praise, scripture and worship, and singing some of her favourites she passed away quietly. We all gathered and thanked the Lord for this as we shared with the others that this is what she would have wished and we had prayed God would allow. Instead of the sting of death, everyone left with Gods praise on their lips. We could not have asked for more....

Thank you for all your prayers
Red

Here is the testimomy I had written on how our previous prayers were answered:

"..The agent of death came quickly, a small lump in the breast but the HMO said only this one local hospital and its lab could be used and the wait would be months before they could test. So they waited as it spread throughout her body and slowly corrupted or the destroyed the cells within her. When they finally tested, it showed itself as malignent and a flurry of test and retests ensued to confirm it. Then operations to cut it out, the many hours in the hospital, but it was too late and they gave her up to the grave. They told her a few weeks and it would all be over but she could try the treatment worse than the cure if she wanted, but it wouldnt help much as it had spread all over and there was no man made cure for what she had. So they anointed her, prepared her for the grave, and all were asked to pray as only God was capable of changing what death had decreed. All her friends and aquaintances, and churches that knew of her plight made time to remember her in their prayers.

The doctors came to give her the verdict of death, but something happened that wasnt on their medical charts. They said it was a miracle, they said it wasnt possible, they said they had never seen anything like is but the tests showed that death had been set back, nothing showed but a tiny little shadow where once it was all over her body. The agent of death came to do its grim reaping, but God has been with her from the start, and that was almost five years ago and she still lives. Yes, we cannot live forever but if we ask, God can give us more time to be a witness and glorify him and be a blessing to others. Still she knows we all are under the wages of sin so the miraculous reprive has been with the understanding of the eventual demands of sin unless Christ comes quickly. But she is strong in her faith in Jesus Christ and praises God for the miracle she has been given and fears not the future, as Christ assures my mom the gift of eternal life.

1 Corinthians 15:52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed...."

This miracle from the prayers of many had a direct affect on me as you what you see today is completely different than the person I was 5 years ago. I see its power and more strongly believe in prayer, and especially when others join in as they too are blessed. I cannot give more direct testimony to the power of prayer as to the 5 'extra' years of life given to her.....

It is wonderful to hear that God is giving you and your family some comfort in this hard time, Red. You're in my prayers, of course. *Big Hug*

We went through this twice last year, too, with both my grandmas passing away. It's so hard, but one day we'll all be together again. :)

Be strong, Red, my brother.

(Also still praying for the others in this thread, I can really feel the LORD around here.)

Sorry for your loss Red-but our testimony about the extra five years was awesome. Thanks for sharing with us. I didn't see Doc's post until just now-so instead of asking God for your strength--I'll praise Him for prayers already answered!

Thanks for all the prayers....

A spirit has entered this forum that is not of God, and has been here for quite some time now. We really need to pray that God will silence it. It is getting to be too much, and is counterproductive to our growth in Christ.
Our Father,

We ask that you please protect this forum and all of your children that dwell within it. Please let your love, understanding, and mercy dwell within each of us and drive out Satan's influences here.

Help this forum to become a place that You wish to dwell alone, Our Lord.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Amen Sky--too many of us have been , 'in the flesh' in our postings and it really needs to stop. If we truly belong to Christ--then our very thoughts, actions and motives will be toward HIS glory and not ours.

'Heavenly Father, open our eyes as to our true spiritual condition and root out the defects of our ungodly characters. We are to reflect Your Son in our hearts as we carry His name. Help our unbelief Lord.
In Jesus name we ask this--amen"
