My father was hospitalized this morning for what they first thought to be a heart attack. Now the doctors are not sure what is wrong. Please keep him in your prayers.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Update:
There is a small possibility that he may be able to come home today. After running tests they found that it wasn't his heart at all, although they don't know what it was. Right now my biggest praise is that I got the call before my sister did (she's just 14). Of the message "your dad is in the hospital, but he's ok for now", all she got was "your dad is in the hospital". She called me on my cell about 5 minutes after I found out in tears with no idea what was going on. Thankfuly I had already talked to my mom and was able to calm her down some.

Update: Good news and bad news.
Good news: They found that it was his gall bladder. It was removed yesterday, he is doing better, and SHOULD be able to come home tonight, hopefuly for good.
Bad news: Our family has been struggling financialy for the past year. We had been getting particularly close to the edge in the past few weeks. Having my father in the hospital pushed us over that edge. It now looks like we will lose our house and one of our vehicles.

Objectively speaking I can't say that things are getting any better. What I CAN say is that God has given me peace about it. I have been able to sleep for the past few nights, and I am eating again. I don't yet see the reason behind what is happening, but I know that there is one.
