  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Prayer for my dad?

Not open for further replies.
My dad has been a big smoker for a long time. We kept on telling him the effects of smoking and that he should quit, but it just made him angry.

Now he's decided to try to give it up. He bought one last packet, and is going to try to stop after that packet. But he is really addicted and smokes often, and me and my family are worried that he might have secretly bought more boxes because he is having trouble giving up.

He has also recently been told that he is diabetic, by the doctors, so he has to give up even more things he likes.

Iam just wondering whether anyone will pray for my dad, so that he will have the strength and will to give up smoking.

Thank you. :)

Is your father a christian? If he is, then he can claim the many many bible promises which free us from ALL sin. I wrote a study on God`s divine unstoppable will to deliver all His saints from the POWER of SIN, would you like me to send you a copy? It`s mostly scriptures and very edifying. Quiting smoking is very personal to me since God has recently DELIVERED me from this sin. Although I did not smoke long enough to have serious health problems I was spiritually sick and damaged because of it. The worst thing about smoking was it ruined my WITNESS of Jesus. How could I tell someone the JESUS saves when I was puffin on a cancer stick? The GOODNEWS is your dad doesn´t need any expensive drugs to take away cravings, or hypnotism to trick his subconscience. Your dad must abhor smoking, before he can quit, if there is any LOVE for it, this will not work. I will pray to our ALMIGHTY Father to soften your dads heart, and to convict him of sin so he releases His desperate need for JESUS. Let me know how things go.

With love through Christ,
Salty

Creationist2004,

I'm so sorry to hear that your father has been diagnosed with diabetes.

I will certainly be praying for him.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that you will lay your healing hands upon creationist2004's father and heal his body from the diabetes. I pray that you will give him peace, comfort and strength to quit smoking. For it is in Jesus' name that I humbly pray Amen and Amen.

Many Blessings to you, Judy :prayer:
