  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey ya'll ,

I totally forgot there was a prayer request forum, but actually I really hope that there may be some christians out there who would like to say a short prayer for me (sometimes it's easier to ask anonymous people ).

So here's the request:

Please pray for guidance concerning my education. I am currently contemplating on doing my master studies in an Asian country, and obviously that's a big decision :o. It will be a two year master study in international politics, or something like that. I hope that by being there I will be used to speak about Jesus to whomever I meet in this country (for safety reasons not naming the specific country), and that God will open doors for me to stay in this country a little longer if needed.
If God so wills it, then I hope to get all the paperwork done in time, get all the finances together and once there, meet a friend or two so I won't get lonely :o.

Thanks to all who decide to pray with and for me :crossrc:! This has been something I've been obsessing over for months!

Praying for you.

I just got a new job and one of my new coworkers spent time living and teaching in China (do not yet know if she is a believer) and she absolutely loved it.

Sounds like quite the adventure!

Hi!

Lol, congrats on the new job hehe :).

And awesome that your coworker spent time living and teaching in China! How long did she stay there for and in which city?

See, that's what I hope to say if I do end up going to thussaidAsiancountry ;), that I absolutely loved it!

I just think it would be an awesome way to get to know a different culture, language, society, way of living etc etc. It's a way to get to know yourself better, your own culture and society, and most of all to experience what is is to be a christian in such a different environment. I really hope to meet some local christians there too, to see how they live out their faith. And as for active evangelization, that most probably won't happen as I already saw that the uni's I'm looking into are very strict on such activities. I do firmly believe in respecting the law too. But I also strongly believe in being yourself, and if that means that people will get to hear about my faith through getting to know me, then so be it :).

Ahhh I really hope it works out!
