From coveting my neighbor's wife, deliver me Jesus!
From coveting my neighbor's goods, deliver me Jesus!

From mortal sin, deliver me Jesus!
From venial sin, deliver me Jesus!
From accessory to sin, deliver me Jesus!
From occasion to sin, deliver me Jesus!
From presumption of God's Mercy, deliver us Jesus!
From despairing of God's Mercy, deliver us Jesus!

People very often want to merely pray their vices and defects away. And the wonder or remark how they've been praying for evah, but still can't overcome some habitual sin or defect of character. A great prayer is just a beginning. We also have to work to enct the change and healing and new skills in our lives which grace provides.

Prayer and grace are the fuel for the actions which me must undertake in order to move in our spiritual lives.

This is so true.

Repentance is the key to change. Not just asking forgiveness.....not just asking assistance, but making a firm resolution to not continue in the sin and making changes in our lives both physically, mentally and spiritually to ensure that we keep our resolution to reject sin in the future.

God doesn't force Grace or Virtue upon us but if we cooperate with His Grace we will receive Virtue.
