• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So im trying my hardest to get everything squared away so i can move but my car i just got is breaking down despite me fixing it up.

I got a radiator for it. Belts changed and other stuff and its still leaking. Gonna have a mechanic come and look at it today.

I just really need my car so i can finally move on with my kids. Get a job and place and be happy.

Seems like obstacles keep popping up.

TIA.

My first car was a used 1968 VW Beetle (nicknamed bug). It was one of the cheapest cars available in the Want Ads sales periodical. There was no online yet. The seller bought a cheap $99 Maaco paint job to hide the rust and metal rot. They had poor metal coatings in those days. Fenders rusted. The floor rotted from the undercarriage side. I paid someone to pop rivet sheet metal to cover the hole in floor. I spent about a year paying to fix one thing after another. I paid $500 to get the engine rebuilt. The brakes needed repair. One day the axle broke. I had it towed to my parents house. I did not want to spend one more dollar on the car. Someone my mother knew had a friend who wanted the rebuilt engine, I sold the car to him. My parents bought a used car for me. I learned I should buy a recent model car or new car. The cheapest car is not always the best car.

If that was my car I’d have to shoot it. Oh wait! Bring in a car whisperer
