  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

At this time there is a Bill in Congress to extend the VRAP employment training bill for vets. This Bill is not much. It does not provide for a degree in a University, but allows for one year of job training for unemployed vets. It is the very least we can do.
Our vets have been treated poorly. Many were conned by the military recruiters like I was. I was promised a $7000 signing bonus to enlist in the Light Infantry, and $25,500 for school. I did not get any of it. Almost half the people in my company ware scammed the same way. That's nothing compared to the effects of Agent Orange, or depleted Uranium. I thank God I was never exposed to anything like that.
After using and abusing the men and women in uniform our military tries to wash their hands of the results of their actions.
The vets deserve better. They were just trying to do the right thing. To serve their country. The people responsible cannot really do anything to make up for what they have done. Only Congress, and We the People can act to try to right the many wrongs committed in our names.
Please contact your congressional Representatives, send an email or a letter telling them that you care about this issue. That they should vote to extend and expand the VRAP program to help Vets get the education and job training they need to make it in the world. There are just so many tank driver jobs out there, so the training they get from the Military is often useless in the civilian world.
Please pray for the passage of Senate Bill S-6 and tell your Representatives in Congress that this issue is one you will vote on.
Thank You
