Pray for the 278th

Everyone please pray for the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment. My uncle is in it and they are going to Iraq starting the 19th. From what ive heard its one of the largest national guard deployments since Vietnam. So pray for those young men and women going to fight for our country.

BJ I will be praying for your uncle and his regiment. I pray for the safety of his soul, his mind, and his body. I ask all my brothers and sisters to pray for my friend Tom Solimando who is in the Marines, Wing Support Squadron 472. Tonight a bunch of us, all of his friends, and his fiancée, got together in honor of him. We took pictures that his fiancée will send to him. I pray for him every night. He goes out on convoy missions for the soldiers who defuse bombs. The convoys are the first target of the enemy. Today is the halfway mark of his deployment. Please pray that the Lord keeps him safe, his soul, mind and body. My friend Mike O'Hara is also overseas, he is in in the Army in Kuwait right now and is preparing to enter Iraq in a few weeks. Also a guy named Eric at my father's church, he is serving in Iraq, please pray for him too.

The three Cavalry Troops of each Squadron are each equipped with nine M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks, 13 M3A2 Bradley Fighting Vehicles, and two 120mm Mortar carriers. The Howitzer Battery, is equipped with six of the 155mm M109 SP Howitzers. The Tank Company is equipped with 14 M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks. Rounding out this combat power are two more M3A2 Bradley Fighting Vehicles for the Squadron Commander and his S-3.
