When you pray, I would like to ask that you pray for my little nephew.
A year and some months ago he was diagnosed with neuroblastoma--a rare childhood cancer that develops in toddlers when neuroblasts, prototype nerve cells, fail to mature into neurons and continue to multiply as if the child was still an infant.
When he developed his first tumor, we all met and laid hands upon him, praying in the Name of Jesus. He also underwent medical protocol, and we brought this practice to the hospital, in front of and with the acknowledgement of the doctors. His tumor shrank at a rate in which the doctors say they had never personally seen before. This was a testimony to them and many others, but medical protocol was still completed.
Some months later, when his hair had begun to regrow and he had regained weight, another tumor began to grow. He and his parents returned to the hospital lifestyle, and we continued to pray.
Two weeks ago, I received news that his tumor had seemed to continue growing after having received medical treatment. This is a serious turn of events. However, while we genuinely appreciate and greatly respect the dedication and care of these devoted, highly skilled pediatricians, it is not their word that we believe. They are merely the best of what men can offer. We are aware of a higher authority.
Before he was healed of the first tumor, the Spirit of Yahweh told us that he would be healed, but that would not be the end of this disease. You see, there was a reason that the woman with the issue of blood in Luke 8:43 had done all that she could do with the doctors before she came upon Yeshua and touched the tzitzit of His garment. If she had found Him before going to the doctors, she might not have ever known that He had solved a problem that man was utterly unable to solve.
When this kid was healed the first time, we gave glory to the living God, and it was a testimony to everyone who had anything to do with this miracle child. This was the level of belief that we were able to deal with at the time. Yet, it was not known for an objective fact our mighty God had shown His glory to heal something that therapy and surgery alone could not have also healed.
Now, such an incurable situation seems to be arising. The truly marvellous thing about medical science is that it provides a set of meticulous, closely measured scales that the glory of God can break, so that His Name can be praised. Through all of the emotion and anguish that we all are feeling, seeing him in this state, we are now all looking to the Deliverer, who is able to heal us all from the cancer that would destroy us.
Brethren, I would like to ask you not only to pray for the healing of this child, but also for our faith, and for the testimony of his healing. This is not a flashy television production, a work of fiction, a snippet of hearsay floating around the congregations for the proof of a theological point, and this is not merely a runny nose. This is a very bright, very charismatic, very sick child, who has been a real testimony before, and who I believe stands to revolutionize the way many people see the living, healing God who goes by the Name of Yeshua.
I love you. I appreciate you. I thank you.
And before long I'll probably be back here yapping and griping about objectivity, word studies, and fulfilled prophecy again. See you then.
