I grew up looking at the glass half-empty (esp. regarding myself), but the LORD has shown me this week that I can be confident the glass is half-full instead!
* I took a music class recently and was challenged by it, but also pleasantly surprised that I knew a lot of the music theory already.
* I spent some time with two married friends and started to feel discouraged because I am not married and have no children. But then the LORD reminded me that He's gifted me with the ability to relate to both singles and marrieds.
* I was discouraged because it seems like a number of my friends have become self-focused lately and only call me up when they want something from me. But the LORD reminded me that it is a gift of wisdom to be able to see the difference between selfless friendship and selfish "friendship" -- and to act accordingly.
What I learned is that I am not lacking at all, but completely able to be confident in who the LORD has made me to be, and where He's placed me in life. I have much to learn, but there is much HE has already taught me.
Praise to the LORD, the Almighty, the Merciful - our Father. God is good, all the time.
