  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What's a PPC you ask? It's a passive pessimistic Christian. What I'm wondering is why there are so many that I see? Now not all are both passive and pessimistic, but it seems all too prevalent. Surely Christ did not die on the cross so we could maintain such views as this. It justs seems to me that many of our "experiences" blind us to the glory that God has given us and it's a real shame. Pessimism means we lack faith in God's power. Passiveness is a sign that we will not fight for the glory of God's name. Do some not fight because they don't have faith, or do they not have faith because they won't fight? And make no mistake, when I say fight, I'm talking about spiritual warfare. Wy when you can lift another Christian up do some try to tear them back down? Sure, rebuke the sins, but don't break the faith of others because you want them to see the world as you may or may not. We're called to love each other, yet I rarely see it anymore.

Lol, I feel your frustration, catch. I agree that there are a whole lot of PPC's out there. The past two years especially God has been doing amazing things in my life, making me much bolder then I ever was before. So, sometimes when I look around and see other Christians who are still surrounded by a pessimistic attitude, or a spirit of defeat, it makes me want to pull my hair out. I think it must be a little like how people in love want all their friends to be in love, because they've discovered how great it is.

But, you know, in the past few weeks God has been teaching me that I need to bear with my brothers and sisters, come alongside them, and encourage them. Everyone is at a different place in their walk with God, and it was not so very long ago that frustration and pessimism ruled my life (even for a while after I became a Christian). I also learned a long time ago that God is the only one who can bring about changes in attitude--although He may work through me to achieve that in others, I have to wait on His timing. Anyway, I guess I've come to see Christianity as a process. Over the course of my life, I will learn to be more faithful, to trust God more, and to love others with a Godly love. Those things will build in me as God refines my character. It won't happen all at once, and while on earth I'll never be perfect, but I will steadily become more and more Christlike.
