My wife and I just moved to Tigard from NYS. I wish this section of the forum was more active. We would love to meet other Christians.

Someday I plan on moving out of this dump (Illinois) or Oregon, probably the Portland area for a job. I wish this thread was active because I'm curious along the same lines.

I am currently in Astoria Oregon right next to the Washington border. I will be moving back to Salem Oregon in a few months though.

I'm thinking about moving to Portland to go to Multnomah bible college. What's it like there in Portland? Does anyone know anything about that college?

I went to College in Portland. It is a quite beautiful city and there is lots to do there.. if you want to do stuff. Lots of rain/mist in the winter. and Lots of trees.

Portland is a nice area... Cold in the winter, pretty hot in the summer.... Seattle is a little more temperate, since it's by the water.
Portland is a better place. though, because Oregon is just a better state, IMHO.

Portland is great - I've got a few friends who go to Multnomah, and they all love it. My pastor actually used to teach there, I think.. and our college pastor goes there. I'm biased though because I love PDX.

I'm in the Portland area. My church is in NW Portland.
Other than a little humidity in the Summer, it's a virtual paradise here. The coast is more comfortable, but no tech jobs.

I agree with the other posters, there's lots to do in Portland, it is a relatively safe city (though our local news reports might lead you to believe otherwise), we have lots of parks and nature and the people are known to be very friendly.

but seriously, you could do far, far worse than Portland.

I live in Portland!!! I love it here! My cousin and uncle go to MBC They seem to love it and meet some pretty amazing people! To anyone who might be looking for a church here in PDX i highly recommend checking out Imago Dei Community Church. It's truly an amazing church.
