CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
pokemon - really pocket monsters?

If I remember correctly, the idea came from when during the war, the Japanese would go to live away in the country or near woodland. Their children would go out, find insects and "battle" them with a friend or sibling.
So no, I don't think there's anything "demonic" about them.
They're just one of the many ideas such as Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Monster Rancher, etc.

I believe Strange Wonderer pretty much covered the subject. Really, just pay attention to what your children are into, ensure that they know what is fantasy and what is reality and that they don't lose sight of what is truly important in the midst of their hobbies.rupertdk said:

I was into Pokemon and so was my little brother like 5 or six years ago. Just fun stuff. Grew out of it like any other adolescent stuff.

No it shouldn't be too much of a concern, only as far as anything else, such as money should be concern in the way that if it comes between you and God, then it is not good.rupertdk said:

I liked Pokemon a long time ago....in fact, I think helped me with memorzation...I knew all 200 or so, and all their numbers and names =p
