Do you believe we can better find our way by looking toward the past or the Kingdom?

I would like to know why we cannot look toward the Kingdom and base our understandings upon its coming, rather than basing our theologies on extra-Biblical history.

I think Biblical history is good.

It seems that we cannot/are not getting a true picture of the extra-Biblical past.

Could we get a true picture of what is coming were we to keep our point of view on the Kingdom?

Could we base our theological and political movement on watching the Kingdom coming by seeking it and watching it come into view?

1Co 14:31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

Thanks for allowing me to ask these questions!

Man cannot live (prosper spiritually) on bread (salvation) alone, but by every word of God. While the future is ahead the real lessons are found in history, including the very reasons that there needs to be a better future.

"I think bible history is good." (BUT?)

Like it or not, our Lord Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, lived, suffered, died, and rose again for us a long time ago in the past.

Starting with Him and His Apostles, we learn about His kingdom and the faith. Then we continue to be taught by those who succeeded to leadership in the Church, the men known to us as the Church Fathers.

Without their teaching, who can tell if he is getting things right?

Without those guides from the past, we are more likely to get lost than we are to find our way to the kingdom.

Thank you for your imput.
